DOCENT PROGRAM
The purpose of the Docent Program is to support and carry out the
educational mission of the Corrales Historical Society by providing
tours of the old San Ysidro Church and participating in historical
research and training. Docents don't need a background in history, only
an interest in learning
about the history of the area. Information for tours will be provided
through meetings and printed material. A special speaker series and
tours to historical New Mexican sites are also provided.
Specific responsibilities of each Docent include:
Membership in the Corrales Historical Society
Sitting the old San Ysidro Church one Sunday per year 1-4 p.m.
(That is, holding the church open one Sunday afternoon along with another docent to welcome visitors. )
Participating in Heritage Day in the Spring
Participating in Harvest Festival in the Fall
Attending monthly meetings or activities February - December
We always welcome new docents. It's a great way
to make new friends and learn about the history of the Old San Ysidro
Church, Corrales, and New Mexico.
